PubhD Dublin #41: Solar Physics and The Female Audience
April 3 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pmFree
Our 41st event will take place on Wednesday 3rd April 2019 from 7:00 pm downstairs in the J.T.Pim’s (4 South Great Georges Street · Dublin 2). This month we will have two speakers presenting their research!
So who is speaking?
Ciara Maguire is a PhD at the Astrophysics Research Group in Trinity College Dublin. She is a member of the first generation of researchers to operate Ireland’s first radio telescope, LOw-Frequency ARray (I-LOFAR) which was recently constructed in Birr, Co. Offaly. Her goal is to deepen our understanding of the physics of the Sun which will allow better forecasting of space weather events.
Sarah Arnold is a lecturer in media at Maynooth University. She is researching the television industry’s production of the female audience and the implications that this audience profiling had on the address made to female viewers.
Looking forward to seeing you all there. And as always, if you are interested in taking part in future events as a speaker, which usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
